  4. Then open the steel cover and to it add a bowl of homemade malai and stir again nicely for 2 minutes so the malai mix with the carrots.
  5. After the malai has mixed add a bowl of milk and stir again for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Keep it covered again. The milk, malai and grated carrots will cook together for another 7 to 8 minutes.
  7. Then open the cover and check the status of the halwa and add the sugar and mix again. The sugar will dissolve.
  8. Allow it to cook uncovered till the milk and juices evapourate. When you stir it you will feel the halwa is cooked properly.
  9. Switch off the gas. Serve the halwa with chopped nuts and raisins.
