The ingredients needed to make Bacon Turkey:
  1. Get 13 lb Turkey
  2. Take 2 packages Bacon
  3. Take cold water
  4. Make ready Your favorite spices around the house
  5. Make ready Toothpicks
  6. Prepare 1/2 stick butter
  7. Get 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  8. Prepare 1/2 quart apple cider
Steps to make Bacon Turkey:
  1. Thaw out Turkey leave it in bag. Put in cold water ( takes about half a day to thaw.)
  2. When thaw take Turkey out of bag and wash it with cold water just water. Then take out the stuff inside Turkey.
  3. Then marinate with your favorite spices. If spices are dry just use olive oil and/or melted butter. Let it set for a day in frigerator on cover.
  4. After let Turkey set you will put little bit oil on chest or butter (not melt) start to put bacon on turkey use toothpick to bacon in palce. On legs/wings just warp bacon around the legs and wing use toothpicks if neened.
  5. Preheat oven to 475°F. You will be put in the bird uncover.
  6. Pour apple cider all over Bacon Turkey.
  7. Place Bacon Turkey in over. Leave temperature at 475°F for a hour then add other half of apple cider in. Then reduce to 200°F. Will have to check every 2 hours or so to baste.
  8. Repeat baste check for 10 hours every 2 hours or so.
  9. Turn off overn. Let bacon turkey cool off. Then enjoy. Don't fotget to take toothpick out.( If you like you can use juice on the botton of pan for ajus suace.)
